This weekend, I was one more time in Florence and I went again to my favorite museum of Salvatore Ferragamo.
Everyone knows Salvatore Ferragamo, an Italian shoemaker who moved from Hollywood to Florence in the 1920s. It is now a well-known brand of handmade shoes.
Florence is the city where Ferragamo founded his company, which is why the main store and brand museum is located in the Spini Feroni Palace.
The museum was opened in 1995. It includes models of footwear, accessories, documents from the archives of the company, records and studies of Salvatore himself.
Besides the permanent exhibition, the museum hosts a variety of temporary exhibitions. This time I was really lucky as there was an exhibition called Across Art and Fashion, dedicated to the dialogue between artists and designers.
Can we consider fashion a form of art? How artists have influenced the creation of the collections of some designers? When did appear this type of collaboration? Is it still going on?
If you want to know the answers to these questions, do not forget to visit the exhibition until May 7, 2017. The museum is open every day from 10:00 to 19:30. Price of the ticket – 6 €.
